Coping with Rejection

Today, I went to a medical centre near my house to register for medical services and was again being rejected because they found my proof of address insufficient. They wanted me to show proof of letters/statements that were sent to me at my current address. I felt so frustrated because they did not explain clearly what their requirement was when they rejected me the first time, and I was quite pissed off by the fact that people here can be quite inflexible. I printed the record of my contact address from my HSBC internet account website and also the school records but they still found it insufficient. Sigh… this experience also made me realize that I could not take rejection very well. I knew this is no fault of mine but I still felt like crying when the nurse told me that they could not register me. I must learn to be more thick-skinned…

Anyway, having dealt with the bank, medical centre, telecom company, transport authorities and even the Accommodation Office in school, I find that in comparison, Singapore has a much more transparent and efficient system than in the UK. We should really appreciate what we have at home. : )
