Museum, Coke and Jacket!

Today i went for another round of programme induction in the morning. Have more or less decided on the modules that I should take. :) quite excited about going to school again..

In the afternoon, I first went to a small garden at Russell Square.. a very small garden indeed!

and then went to the British Museum with Kenneth. The last time I came was 2 years ago. It is still pretty much the same, still so big, so much to see...

There is a big library in the museum, with lots and lots of book! WAH.... I love books!

Then we went shopping at Covent Garden and I saw this purple coat that I liked a lot!!! It has a hood too so I can use it when it rains.. which happens frequently in London. What's more, it's on sale... What am I waiting for???

At night, we went to May Gee's room to cook dinner. It is really much cheaper than eating out. I am so thankful for May Gee and Kenneth's company. :) Lee Imm and HH: I can cook one! Here is the evidence!

And.. I have a sudden craving for coke today.. haahaa.. so I bought 2 bottles back to my Hostel. Yeah! I have coke to drink tonight. The simple pleasures in life. :)

Searching for new home...

An amazing thing happened today! I went to the fresher's fair, together with Joanna and her friends and I met this guy who is staying in my Hall (his name is Ian). He also wanted to move out, so both of us went on our "flat-hunting trip". We went to 3 Intercollegiate Halls but they were all full. Although there is no success, I thank God for this encounter as if I was left alone, I know I will be too lazy to search around...

Another amazing thing is one of Joanna's classmate actually has a room to let. The flat is at Waterloo, a bit closer to school and more accessible. I will be going there for flat viewing on Sun. I pray that God give me wisdom to decide.

Although this was another tired day, I felt quite happy and went covent gardens with May Gee in the afternoon:

I feel even happier after I bought a skirt and 2 tees from GAP. :P Running out of clothes to wear so I did my laundry just now.. guess how much it costs? 3 Pounds (S$9) to wash and dry my clothes.. so expensive.. :(

After dinner, Ian brought me to a megamart called Tesco at Old Kent Road, which is about 15min walk from my Hall. I am again thankful for the encounter today as Tesco is located at quite a dodgy area. I am grateful for Ian's company. I finally managed to get my water filters there! :)

oh! as to what societies I joined today... I signed up for LSE Investment Society, Hong Kong Public Affairs & Social Services, Singapore Society and Christian Union. I am still "suffering" from identity crisis - feel very much affliated to both Singapore and HK.. :P

Induction

The past 2 days have been busy. Went for departmental and school induction, trying to get the necesities, subscribe to a mobile phone line, buying a ticket back to Singapore etc etc etc.

Sigh.. and I discovered that this course is actually quite demanding! I will be having intensive refresher course on Statistics and Accounting from this Sat onwards, for 9 days, from 10am to 5pm everyday. :(

Have been having difficulties getting a flight back in Dec. :( Finally managed to make a booking for Swiss Air, flying to HK on 13 Dec.. but I have not received any confirmation email from Priceline yet.. worried...

Was a bit upset so didn't take a lot of photos... the only happy moments were meal time. :P

I discovered a Hong Kong cafe in Chinatown and I had my coffee+tea for tue dinner. :)

For wed lunch, I had omelete and spagetti:

Nevertheless, there are still a lot of things to give thanks for:

1) I thank God for having May Gee and Kenneth with me in London so that we can take care of each other;

2) I thank God for nice flatmates - I met them for the first time last night;

3) I thank God for safety so far and that I am able to find my way around;

4) I thank God for watching over me so that though there may be difficulties along the way, most of the problems I faced have been solved and so far, everything has gone by smoothly.

Thank you Lord, for loving me and guiding me and I trust that everything will be good in His times. :)

Registration

Today i went to register into LSE. I walked 45 min from my Hall to LSE .. *pant pant*

First day in London

This is my first day in London. Let me show you my hostel and parts of my tiny room.

My Bed - see Eeyore! :)

My working table.

My hostel is situated in a residential area and I heard that it is not quite safe to go out at night around this area. I prayed that God watches over me and protect me...

Bye Bye Singapore :(

What happened on Sat was like a dream.. A bitter-sweet dream. 23rd Sep finally arrived and I am leaving people I loved to pursue my studies in London. I was apprehensive about what is to come. But I am thankful and was touched by the well wishes from my friends, colleagues and brothers and sisters in Christ. I will miss all of you...

And my dear brother, Gordon, especially. Wanted to cry when we hugged...

Leaving MOF

Time flies. Can still remember how "miserable" I felt when I first stepped into MOF. Little did I expect to make so many good friends there, and be able to see myself grow... Very sad to leave good boss and colleagues behind. I thank God for having them in my life.
