I finally realise that aging is not only a battle that we human beings have to face, but also a challenge that every material thing has to overcome...
The main pipe in my kitchen bursted. It came as a surprise because the pipes are all hidden inside the kitchen cabinets and we didn't see it coming.... until the dirty water seeped through the cabinet walls and overflowed onto the kitchen floor. At first, we thought there was a blockage somewhere. But when the plumber came and examined the pipes, we realised that due to prolonged usage, the pipes were already corroded and hence sewage water was flowing out through the cracks. Hence we have no choice but to replace the whole pipe. The main pipe in the toilet will have to be replace too, in case it gives way soon too...
So, Gordon and I spent the whole weekend packing the kitchen and getting it ready for the renovation today. ha ha..we haven't been clearing the kitchen cabinets since mum passed away 11 years ago. Didn't realise that she has bought sooooooooo many plates, cups, bowls, cutlery etc. We threw away 10 bags of rubbish just by clearing 1/3 of the kitchen cabinets. I am actually thankful for this experience as it forces us to clean up the place. We have been procrastinating for the past 11 years...
We were actually quite worried about the renovation. We are worried that the cabinets will be totally spoilt and the whole place will get super dirty. But we prayed and we trust that God will watch over us. Thanks to God, so far so good... as I am writing, the workers are still here working... but I see that they are quite careful and responsible in the work... And I thank God that this happened when Gordon is home from hostel so I won't be feeling totally helpless...
Shall end here. Update on our battle against aging and deterioration at another time! :)

On inhaler
Hihi! Thanks for the concern. :) I am much better already.
Have been put on inhaler since 14 Jan.. for a period of 30 days. Cough less already but do still cough at night. I think I will go for TCM once I have completed my course of medicine.
Very happy to meet up with a friend last week, whom I have not met for the last 12 years. Ha ha. she didn't change a bit but I guess I have aged. :P
And and.. I will be going home for CNY. Busy packing my luggage now. Update this space another time!

Still sick..
It's been a week and I am still sick. Sore throat, running nose, cough... and worst of all, I have lost my voice. Why is the flu virus so strong these days? :( :( :(

Happy 2008!
Wishing everyone a blessed 2008! A year filled with the love, peace and joy from our Lord.
But sigh.. I fell ill on this first day of 2008. Sore throat and fever. One of my resolution for this year is definitely to make myself stronger and more resistant to diseases.
Nevertheless, am glad that I can have a short time of devotion and prayer with Danny today. I think it is very important that at the start of a new year, we commit the coming year to God’s hands. God is the centre of our lives and it is our hope that we will have an even closer walk with Him in 2008.
